A Lifetime

I know it has been to long my friends but it is because sometimes I don't like sitting down and writing out a large story.  This is just because I am lazy and I accept that but I feel that this blog post is extremely necessary.  So here it goes.....

Keep in mind their might be spoilers to the latest Harry Potter movie.  You have been warned...

A little more than 9 years ago an eager 11 year old was sitting in her 6th grade class anxiously waiting to see something that she had only dreamed about.  The date in question is November 16, 2001.  But even before this date something magical had happened to her to make her this anxious and giddy.  Her father had read her a story at night for a couple of weeks that involved dragons, wands, three headed dogs named fluffy, forbidden forests, and large chess games.  He would sit next to this little girl and she would try and stay up as long as possible so that she could retain as much information as possible.  Her father would change his voice for different characters and soon the girl found that this story happened to be one of the best things in her life.  Little did she know that 7 books later and 7 movies almost 8 movies later she would still have this wonderful desire to retain everything put in front of her about "the boy who lived." If you haven't guessed by now this magical story is Harry Potter.  Now as you might have read between the lines that she became obsessed with this story and purchased and anything and everything surrounding this boy miracle.  Harry Potter inspired her to read and since then she has read novels like Pride and Prejudice and East of Eden.  But one book changed her life.  One move changed her perspective.  One composer changed her interests.

Harry Potter was an obsession but it was an obsession that change my life, I think, for better.  I am now 20 and still that eager little girl sitting in her 6th grade class waiting for her parents to take her out of school so she can go see Harry Potter and the Philosophers  Stone at Downtown Disney. (sorry im in England and needed to call it by that name to remain in the culture). Yes I remember everyday I have seen these movies.  Even illness did not keep me from Harry Potter on more than one occasion. Now I am in England and I didn't let anything stand in my way of seeing the new movie, the beginning of the end.  On November 19, 2010 I stepped into the Banbury movie theater and was once again blown away by the magic and  brilliance of the boy who survived.  I then today went to London to see it in Leicester Square, ps this is where all of the Harry Potter World Premiers have been.  It was a breathtaking experience and it brought a lot of emotions to the table.  One, Dobby and Hedwig.. JK Rowling why? I love them and they bring warmth to everyone's heart.  Why kill them? And I know they protect Harry but why take away his Safety Blanket, mine is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is mine and I have no idea what I would do without it. Two, Does the moment have to end.  I was incandescently happy in that theater and I didn't want to leave. why did I have to leave! And three, the worst one, what is going to happen in July when the last Harry Potter movie comes out? It will be the last of everything Harry Potter coming out.  There will be no more midnight Book releases or Midnight showings.  It makes me sad to think about it.  The actors are upset can you imagine all the fans in the world not being able to look forward to the next year without Harry Potter! I guess I will have to cross that bridge when I come to it but It is a sad thought in my head.

Harry Potter was the book that made me love reading.  It showed me a world that I had never seen before.  It is my life and has been in my life for a very ling time.

My Personal Review of Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows:
General: Loved it, favorite movie in series so far
Acting: phenomenal, Dan Emma and Rupert did a fantastic job.. love every minute of it.
Cuts: I think they did a great job trying to cut and order the story so that everything that was necessary was in it! a first! and thank god because it is a great movie!
I have seen this movie twice and it has only been open for 2 days.  I am a maniac but you need to see it more than once to notice things... The specifics.. like did you know when you see Harry's broken wand.. did you see the phoenix feather? it was beautiful! great detail!

On another note the Parents come in tomorrow! I am very excited and guess what I am see Harry Potter again! Can't get enough of it!

much love

  1. Nice writing, sister! Well done!!

And to answer your question, Dobby and Hedwig have to die because Harry has to accomplish everything on his own. Hedwig and Dobby are his safety blankets - and that's exactly the point: Harry can't kill Voldemort with a safety blanket. He has to do it alone.
