Change

Hello!

This will hopefully be the first of many blogs about how my study abroad is going in Wroxton, England!  It is not the most well known place but it has so much to offer and i have been here for only a day! (not even)
Let's begin with how my day began.  I flew from LAX to London's Heathrow.  It was a long painful 10 hours that were a little ridiculous but its all worth it! I landed early at 7am London time! :) and had to make my way through the terrible process of immigration where you are asked the same questions over and over again.  For instance, "why are you coming here?", my answer "to study at Wroxton." What are you studying? what classes will you take? i see here that you have traveled to London in Januray, why? who went with you?  questions like these can irritate an American.  So now it is 8am and i have claimed my bags and now am getting on the train to go to terminal 5 where i had to wait for the rest of the group to arrive.  It was a long 2 hour wait but in the meantime I did meet with some people who o run the college and was able to pick their brains about what was going on on campus and the sights we will be seeing.  Finally at 10 everyone is here and now we are on a bus on our way to this beloved Abey.  everyone is sleeping but I can't seem to even though i have been up for a very long time! I guess it was the jitters that got to me.  we finally reach the campus and guess what our Dean greets us.  He is wonderful and luckily i get to have a class with him! :) This Abey is by te way breathtaking! there is a regency room and let me tell you there is a lot of gold in it! :)
so we get our keys after making a 50 pound deposit, there goes all my spending money. and I get to see my room! I have no roommate, which is amazing! I have my own bathroom and fireplace.. hmm wonder where i will be reading at night! but I got to walk the grounds. lets just say that ponds, lakes, an waterfalls, are there with some beautiful bridges.  The wod has been carved so beautifully with dates in them like 1698 and so on.. I have come to discover that the girls are basically the only ones who have a bathroom with their room.. thank god! :) But right on schedule! (slur the "sch" sound so you sound english) and you have your amazing tea! :) it is almost ^ pm here and i have slept in about 28 hours! yay :) i might be forging that because i really dont know how long it has been! but I know that some of us plan to go look into the pub in the twon which should be fun.

ps the male faculty like reminding the female students that they need to beware of english men because they are "scumbags" and all they want to do is use you! love it

until next time
